Self-Exploration
There is an ancient Chinese curse that says, “May all your wishes be granted.” Like it or not, human beings seem to love a good struggle. So why deny it? Why fight the fight? At least if I am conscious of this quality, I can choose my battles rather than turning the situations that I care about most into battle-grounds. Ghandi was right when he said that the real battles in life are fought within. I need to look not only at where meaning can be found, but also where it cannot. I will explore those self-defeating beliefs, attitudes and behaviors that block my path toward soul. I will examine my walls of defense, take them apart brick by brick and see what they are made of. I will see what I am hanging on to and how I use my thought process to entangle rather than untangle my problems. I will live in the spontaneous moment of soul awareness.
I will learn from my mistakes.
Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.
